Gallery U Boutique Welcomes Westfield Milliner

Gallery U Boutique in Westfield, New Jersey, has recently welcomed Deneise Hyatt-Murad as their new boutique manager. Gallery U Boutique continues to carry a unique collection of specially selected merchandise and gifts, as well as curated art, jewelry, accessories, and so much more!  Deneise is enthusiastic and brings not only experience but a fresh perspective to Gallery U Boutique. One of Deneise’s goals is to seek local artists and designers to feature in the boutique with the intention of boosting community involvement.
Hyatt-Murad’s first find is Westfield milliner, Marion Schwartz of Joy Design. Schwartz, a 35 year resident of Westfield, says, “I’m so excited to be working with Gallery U Boutique as I have been searching for the perfect brick and mortar venue to showcase my collection. I strive to create unique headwear that is fanciful, carefully balanced and beautifully hand finished. It is so important to be able to touch, see and feel the quality of the workmanship and the passion I put into each design, and even better, to try them on!”
Before this partnership, Schwartz’s creations were only available online through her website, Each month new handmade Joy Design headwear will be exhibited to compliment the aesthetics of Gallery U Boutique. So far, Deneise has selected the perfect fall hats and hand beaded combs that pair perfectly with the boutique’s existing brands such as the bohemian and trendy, Lovers & Friends.
Gallery U Boutique is currently featuring collections by four local artists and Deneise is committed to expanding this group, saying “growing our partnership with local artists and artisans just makes sense for us – it connects to the core of our mission.  It allows our clients a broader opportunity to work with and become a part of the local community.  Also, we truly want to offer a unique encounter to each customer and what better way to do that than to offer items that are unique.  Connecting people and the stories of their art and products to other people and their stories is exciting work. I’m happy to be part of what is happening here at Gallery U Boutique.”  The collections will change regularly as Gallery U Boutique’s special events and exhibits change.
Gallery U Boutique exists as an extension of Universal Institute (UI) Inc., and is a vocational rehabilitation site for adult clients with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).  The creative work program at Gallery U Boutique serves to transition clients back into the workforce and local community while also providing a safe and beautiful space for learning new skills and experiencing the transformative power of art.  The boutique also offers collaborative artwork created by UI’s clients. Gallery U Boutique is located at 439 South Avenue West, Westfield, in the recently re-built Root Building on the corner of South Avenue and Westfield Avenue.  They are open 7 days a week: M-Sat. 10:00-6:00, Sun. 1:00-5:00.  Special events will be publicized through their website: and their Facebook page @/GalleryUBoutiqueWestfield.
